C&W has completed the office fit out works for Bank of China’s new CBD office headquarters in Budapest.
Bank of China purchased the 1,700 sq m former HQ building of Credit Agricole in a prestigious, downtown location in the heart of Budapest. Prior to the transaction they have prepared a technical assessment outlining the necessary and recommended renovation works in the building.
After the acquisition Bank of China appointed C&W to manage and supervise the complete refurbishment process. Tasks included designer selection, design management, contractor tendering, construction management and technical supervision as well.
The new office scheme comprises 4 upper floors and one underground floor. Besides the back office services, a 150 sq m bank branch is also located on the ground floor of the precious state of the art building.
Ádám Csikós Associate, Head of Project Management at C&W Budapest said: We are always glad when a project is not solely about technical aspects and in this case we had to take great care of the design. An old, monumentally protected building always poses challenges but I believe that the final result produced a harmony between the expectations of our Client and the historical surroundings.”
Bank of China (Hungary) Clost Ltd. declared grand opening officially on February 10, 2003, as the first financial institution established by Bank of China in the Central Europe. Bank of China has operated in China continuously for 100 year. Both Bank of China and the heritage building have long history.
