MOBILE OFFICE GOES LIVE AT VODAFONE’S RENEWED HQ IN BUDAPEST
Full scale mobile working environment is now reality
Following an intensive two year preparation work the Project Management team at Cushman & Wakefield (C&W), the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services firm’s Budapest office hands over final stage of transformed interior of Vodafone Hungary’s 7,500 sq m prime office building, located on the eastern bank of the River Danube at Millennium City Center, owned by Heitman and Trigranit.
Having learned from the success of transformation of a number of European offices, Vodafone’s Budapest office have made it’s way into the fully flexible working philosophy. Full flexibility is created by employees sitting at de-personalized and un-separated workstations which largely enhances face-to-face communication. The lack of personal workstation is compensated by a variety of meeting facilities, from the standard meeting rooms through touchdown working spots for 1-2 persons to meeting lounges, café on every floor level and even a library.
Room for the transformation was created by a lease renewal 5 years earlier, very successfully accomplished with the support of C&W’s office agency.
A very challenging workspace optimization was also achieved during the nearly 9 months of reorganization, with a result of 3,000 sq m freed up and handed back out of the 10,500 sq m formerly occupied. The office interior was completely modernized and a spectacular new lobby and café has been added which makes this workspace a more attractive, more comfortable, smarter and through all that: more effective.
Aladár Csontos, Senior Project Manager at C&W said: „We are proud to have accomplished such a huge and complex project. This is not just a refurbishment, but a full transformation in the course of which both organizational and human issues needed to be addressed besides the typical technical and financial ones. We were proud to see that the daily operation had been undisturbed by the extensive construction works, all financial goals have been achieved and the quality of the office interior and building systems have been substantially raised. We are also proud that one of the most famous architects, Zoboki – Demeter & Associates, designer to the FIABCI Prix d'Excellence winner Palace of Arts has been selected and carried out design works, under the management of C&W’s Project Management team. By the success of this project our belief in the future of flexible working environment is very strong, we can now offer much more to our Clients through our expertise and we are ready to respond to demands in the domain of workspace efficiency.”
